WHAT IS A FRESH 48 PHOTO SESSION?

Fresh 48 sessions are sessions that are done at the hospital after the baby is born. It's a lifestyle vs posed newborn session (to see information on my posed newborn sessions go click HERE). The focus will be on the baby's hospital life. Simple hospital styled wraps/hats. Showing off the freshness of the baby, hospital tags, bassinet, hospital room surroundings, and nursing photos (if you'd like), etc.

HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION LAST?

Fresh 48 sessions generally last one hour (a little longer if a doctor or nurse needs to take vitals during a session). I begin each session with the newborn's individual images, and then, if you choose, I will photograph the newborn with parents. 

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SESSION?

Because a lot of hospitals let you leave the hospital within 24 hours after the baby is born, you will need to contact me upon arrival at the hospital. If I can get you into my schedule, fantastic! If for some reason I can NOT get you into my schedule, I will send you a 10% off coupon you can use for a studio newborn or 3 month session. 

WHEN ARE THESE SESSIONS NOT AVAILABLE?

Sunday's and holidays such as 4th of July, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, etc. 

DO YOU USE PROPS?

I use simple props. I will bring hospital hats, blankets, and a pink or blue wrap. I also will bring a baby announcement sign. I do not do photos of babies in outfits, etc. I use only wraps for these sessions.

DO YOU TAKE PICTURES OF THE PARENTS DURING NEWBORN SESSIONS?

I do love including the parents in the photos. The love and connection you feel with your baby tells an amazing story, and you’ll want to remember it … especially after the sleep deprivation haze wears off!

WHAT SHOULD THE PARENTS WEAR FOR PHOTOS?

Keep it simple since these are hospital photos. Mom can even wear her hospital gown or a robe if she wants. Dad's typically wear t-shirts with jeans or sweat pants and it gives that hospital comfy feel. I find that lighter colors do look the best.

Yes, please do! I adore maternity sessions! They’re truly a special time to slow down and reflect on the big changes coming in your life.
