I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Shanna Marie, the owner and photographer behind Image 1:27 Photography, a professional photography studio located in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, serving families throughout the surrounding areas. My photography journey began as a hobby when I was just 10 years old. I fell in love with film photography in high school and continued studying it through college. What started as a creative passion grew into a full-time photography business in 2010.

I began photographing families from my home before spending four years working out of a rented studio. In the summer of 2019, I was incredibly blessed to purchase a beautiful storefront studio in Trinity Commons Shopping Center on Route 31 in Lake in the Hills, IL, where I now welcome families from near and far.

At the heart of my work is my faith. As a Christian photographer, I strive to walk in the steps of Jesus and let His light shine through everything I do. The name Image 1:27 Photography is inspired by Genesis 1:27:
“So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.”

This verse is the foundation of my mission—to reflect God’s image through every person I photograph. I believe every season of life is meaningful, and I aim to capture authentic, timeless images that highlight the beauty, connection, and worth within each family.

I specialize in maternity photography, newborn photography, and milestone sessions for babies up to one year old. I offer in-studio newborn and milestone sessions, in-home lifestyle sessions for families who prefer the comfort of their own space, and outdoor photography sessions during the warmer months. While my primary focus is growing families, I also photograph families with older children and offer senior photography sessions, creating meaningful portraits for every stage of life.

My studio is designed to be warm, welcoming, and stress-free—especially for new parents—so you can relax while we preserve some of your life’s most meaningful moments.
